To start the new year, and because we do printer repair service, we want to tell you about the functioning of laser printers. It will allow us to share with you articles we are preparing about all kinds of interesting aspects of laser printing; it should also help you learn about the parts and being more enlightened when talking with technicians.
The steps
The laser produces light that is an exact copy of the image to be printed.
Then, this light is received by the drum, covered with a photosensitive film, which activates the toner cartridge using a mechanism that works by static electricity.
It is on the drum that the toner is placed first, before the sheet passes through to receive this black toner.
In the case of a color printer, each toner cartridge is associated with its drum and is placed on a transfer belt. The toner is distributed on this belt before the sheet of paper is sent through to receive the toner.

Once the toner has been transferred onto the paper, the fuser unit heats it to fix it on the paper.
All of this, of course, happens within about a second.

The main benefit is that is offers a greater image precision. As opposed to the conventional laser printer, the LED printer transmits a variety of tones between 100% black and 100% white.
