Remanufactred and compatible cartridges involve different types of problems that we encounter at the repair workshop. In addition to repairs caused by cartridges such as leaking toner or ink, printing quality issues, we are noticing a yield difference between original oem and compatible cartridges
This morning at our repair workshop, a TN221BK toner cartridge, which suggests a 2,500 pages yield, needed to be replaced after only 1,338 printed pages. Of course, it was a compatible cartridge. Hence, our customer ends up purchasing about two cartridges in order to obtain one original cartidge’s yield.
Thus, the difference between original, remanufactured and compatibles? There is the initial price, but more importantly, the quality and durability vary greatly between those. While one may think they are saving by purchasing a remanufactured or a compatible cartridge, i twill usually cost more on the longer term.
